Clouds on earth!

Gangtok is the capital of India's mountainous north Indian state of India! this Buddhist pilgrimage site was established in the 1840s  and ever since such a beautiful spot for tourism. the unique thing I got to see here in Gangtok is that it's not just about tourism here, follow the itinerary that has been given by your travel agent and visits only touristy spots, it is a place you can truly know about if you wander the streets, not just the mall road! Visit the local people, not just the tourist guides.

So, This is what I scratched from my recent trip to this heavenly place. first of all, as we touched down in Gangtok. it was in mid-October and it's pleasant out there, a cloudy sheet covers the mountains beautifully, and the weather is not too harsh. here are the spots you just can't miss when in Gangtok:

This is one beautiful lake that near a small town called darchen. darchen is a village in purang county in Tibet autonomous region. this village is right in front of the sacred mountain, Mount Kailash. A few people from this village showed us the river which was emerging from a very graceful waterfall right above 450 metres of us.

There was also a cute little cafe near the village named 'cafe mount' which surprisingly serves only special Darjeeling tea and Gangtok momos. these momos were not as we are used to seeing in cities like Delhi and Mumbai, they were really very big in size and freshly handmade and tasted completely different!

And of course, who would miss the legendary Maggie, after all, it's the superhero who saves us from getting our stomach upset with all the foreign food! if you haven't eaten Maggie in the cold where all you can see is mountains all around you, your phone switched off and sipping coffee along, you haven't really felt the essence of the mountains.

You need to check out this new town lazi which is situated  13,297km above the sea level, it took about 2 hours from the central Gangtok mall road to reach this town. it is worth seeing, it has an amazing waterfall view and a blissful Tibetan temple.

Hope you are also planning to give it a visit as it is one of the most beautiful mountainous locations in the world. mountains are the only spot where you could get much peace other than in mountains!
